This game was made for VimJam (7 days)
Focus: Collectables
Theme: There and back

It's morning and you gotta wake up for work, you hear the alarm clocks, but to wake up you need to collect all the clocks and escape the room before deep sleep ghosts catch you. They'll follow your every step and will eventually catch and make you fall into Deep Sleep if you're not careful. Use your Dream Pillow to traverse through 15 different and challenging levels! Good luck!

This is my first published project as well as my first jam. I hope you enjoy this little game as much as I enjoyed making it! If you beat the game, post your times!

Linux and Mac builds are not tested, please let me know if they worked or not!

Game is fantastic, but just stopping to say your thumbnails are always fantastic. I literally have spent the last couple minutes studying them. Great job :)

(1 edit)

That's a huge compliment considering i don't know what i'm doing haha. Was struggling with it for a while. Thank you :)

So I was looking online to see if anyone has done speedruns of this game and found nothing. Mainly because there is another called Deep Sleep that people also speedrun. I am currently planning on recording a speedrun and submitting it to Speedrun.com. I'll keep you informed tho.

Ooh i'm looking forward to that! Thank you! Also yes I probably should've looked up if there is a game with a similar name, but that's a little late.. :)

Don't worry about it :D

i cant past level 9, is there any gameplay or tutorial? fun game but i cant figure out level 9

(+1)

ok update, i tried all the levels and i cant figure out level 9 and 13, all others i got, any tips?

Hey! Have you tried collecting the clocks in different order? This helped a few of my testers, hopefully it helps you as well! Also I tried to make a simple tutorial by writing text in the background, but i'm aware it could be a lot better :) I'll work on my tutorials in my future projects.

Thank you for playing! :)

Thank you so much c:

My only complaint was making the shadows a bit more distinct since they are really important to the game. otherwise the concept was solid, execution and atmosphere were super.

Thank you for your feedback! I'll look into improving that after the jam :) Thanks for playing and i hope you liked it!

Fun game, but I find the shadows very hard to see. Usually I have to memorize my path and take a different one. Than I try until I randomly miss the shadow in the places where path cross.

Hard to see? Could you take a screenshot of the game and tell me which platform you're playing on so I can take a look please.

EDIT: I figured out it's a low framefrate issue. I'll try to fix it for the after jam version. Thank you for pointing it out!

Fixed in the next update :) Thank you again!

Fun game! I think there was too many songs used in the game, one or two would’ve been better. The shadows were really hard to hit with the pillow and the jump felt heavier than it should’ve been. I also noticed you used Godot and also got the audio delay bug in HTML, that’s unfortunate

(+1)

Thanks for your feedback! I didn't think too many songs would've been an issue, I tried to avoid repeatitive music. The jump height varies depending on how long you press the button to give you more control over where you land, so if you just hold it down, it shouldn't feel very heavy. The audio delay's because of godot's html export, nothing I can do about  it unfortunately :/ Thanks for playing my game, I hope you enjoyed it!

(1 edit)

Oh I didn’t notice you could hold down the jump button, my bad. My game also suffered from the same audio issue, haven’t found anyone who has had this issue or knew how to fix it sadly

The whole game is clearly well done and each aspect is well developed. I like the art and colour scheme is consistent. The game play is very interesting and I had fun playing it!

Glad you liked it :)

Awesome polish. Liked it so much

This is so insanely polished, i cannot believe that all of this was made in 7 days. You devs have a great future ahead!

If this isn't the highest rated game of the jam im going to T H R O W  H A N D S.  Congratulations, this is the most polished game i've seen and played thus far. Executes on the focus and theme with flying colors and its a simple yet clever puzzle platformer. Honestly I'm jealous :)

Thank you so much for these kind words! Really made me smile : )

Amazing game, well polish and great gameplay!

Beautiful game! I really like this concept a lot! Its reminds me of Braid with the character shadow. It's definitely difficult, but in a good way :) I love the different ways you can use the pillow too, genius. I would say you should keep developing it! Great work!!
